Law enforcement agencies in Port Huron ended a turbulent Thursday morning with the arrest of a 24-year-old Kimball Township driver.

Officials report the incident began yesterday morning around 6:20 a.m., when a 1990 GMC Sierra truck drove through the employee gate at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office. The pickup fled the scene, injuring no one but extensively damaging the gate.

Within 25 minutes, the truck was seen again, this time driving through the gate at the Port Huron Police Department. However, when the pickup fled this time, they were pursued by Port Huron Police, with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office joining the pursuit after a deputy spotted the vehicle on 24th Avenue in Fort Gratiot.

After a countywide chase, law enforcement successfully deployed stop sticks at Beard Road near Metcalf Road, pausing the Chevy truck for a moment. The driver attempted to flee again, but the vehicle instead came to a stop at Burtch and Metcalf Roads and the driver was taken into custody without incident.

The driver was later identified as 24-year-old Anthony Gigliotti of Kimball Township. Gigliotti was arraigned Friday morning on two counts of fleeing and eluding, two counts of malicious destruction of police property, operating under the influence, reckless driving, and a concealed weapons violation. His bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety.

Gigliotti will next appear in court for his probable cause conference on February 20.
