With construction work comes detours, and as the city of Sandusky officially started work on their watermain project last Wednesday, officials wish to remind residents and visitors of the oncoming traffic shifts.
Due to construction, M-46 is one way only between the corner light at South Elk Street and Campbell Road, with the one lane open for westbound traffic only. According to the city, this means that anyone coming off the side streets on the east side of town can only travel westbound, and “those in violation will be pulled over.”
The traffic shift also means that there is no turning right from South Elk Street onto eastbound M-46 at the light.
Officials urge drivers to please pay attention to traffic direction signs at this time and use caution when workers are out. Businesses on the East end of town are still open and can be reached by taking a side street.
