With both Joe Biden and Donald Trump winning handily in their respective parties’ primary contests in Sanilac County on Tuesday, voters also overwhelmingly passed all four county-wide bond renewal proposals.
With 29 of 30 precincts reporting as of midnight, the renewal of the county road millage was approved, with 6,713 yes votes and 1,973 no votes. The renewal of the county’s recycling millage saw 6,017 yes votes against 2,652 no votes, and the county library millage proposal passed with 6,180 yes votes and 2,333 no votes. The county’s medical control emergency services fund millage renewal had no problem passing—7,212 voters casted a yes vote, while 1,304 voted no.
Meanwhile, Custer Township’s proposed zoning ordinance amendment was successful, the Peck Schools sinking fund millage proposal, and the Brown City District Library millage proposal were all passed by their precinct voters.
