The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Bad Axe city officials invite the public to attend an open house Wednesday, March 20, to learn more about an upcoming $5.2 million investment to improve M-142 from M-53 to M-19 in Huron County.
Attendees will be able to view project information, with project staff present and available to answer questions. The event will run from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Bad Axe City Hall, located at 300 E. Huron Avenue.
The $5.2 million project includes resurfacing the roadway, as well as sanitary sewer and water main work on M-142 from M-53 to M-19. The roadway will also be widened for the addition of a center left-turn lane from Nugent Road to a half-mile east.
Work is expected to begin on April 1 and end Aug. 15. During the work, traffic will be detoured via M-53 to Learman and Carpenter roads. Local traffic will be maintained on M-142 from M-53 to Hellems Road.
