Bad Axe woman in hospital, Marlette man minorly injured after Thursday morning crash

accident-2

A Bad Axe woman is in the hospital after she failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another car early Thursday morning.
A 43-year-old woman was driving north on Bad Axe’s South Silver Street in her 2003 Pontiac Grand Am shortly before 7:00 a.m. on March 14, when she failed to stop at the East Huron Avenue stop sign. Doing so put her in the path of an eastbound 1997 GMC Jimmy driven by a 24-year-old Marlette man, with the vehicles colliding.
Though the Marlette man received only minor injuries and was treated at the scene, the Bad Axe woman had to be extracted from her vehicle by the Bad Axe Fire Department before transport to McLaren Thumb Region Hospital. The woman was also cited for failing to stop at a stop sign.
The Bad Axe Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Huron County Sheriff’s Department, Bad Axe Fire Department and Central Huron Ambulance.
