A St. Clair County man was arrested Monday night in Macomb County after neighborhood residents reported a suspicious man loitering by a porta-potty.
Macomb County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Washington Township’s Seven Lakes Drive after a report of a suspicious man walking around the neighborhood, with the caller saying that the suspect was acting unusual and carrying multiple bags.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Jessie Webber of Allenton, was seen speaking with a resident and appeared unsteady on his feet. Though Webber claimed he worked for a contractor in the subdivision and was waiting for a ride, he did also admit to having “whippets” in the porta-potty.
In addition to this admission, officers learned that Webber’s backpack contained a large kitchen knife and ammunition for a .40 caliber handgun. They also found numerous pills on the suspect’s person, packaged in a manner common for distribution, as well as 15 credit/debit cards with multiple different names on them.
Webber was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned Tuesday, April 23, on three felony counts and one misdemeanor, including one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
Webber is currently being held at the Macomb County Jail on a $7,500 cash/surety bond (no 10%).
