A Monday evening investigation by St. Clair County’s Drug Task Force ended in arrest for a West Virginia man.

The task force had been investigating methamphetamine trafficking into the area from out of state, with it ultimately determined that their suspect was delivering narcotics to the county. After arranging with the suspect to meet at a local establishment for a supposed deal, members of the DTF, uniformed deputies, Homeland Security, and a Border Patrol K9 gathered in the area prior to the meeting.

The suspect, 27-year-old Curtis Lampkins of West Virginia, was met by law enforcement when he arrived, and was arrested without issue. The DTF seized 591 grams of methamphetamine (which has an approximate street value of $50,000), along with a large amount of US currency, and packaging materials.

Lampkins was arraigned on the charges of felony controlled substance, 2nd offense and using a computer to commit a crime (felony) and bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety.
