Sunday evening crash in Speaker Twp. injures Jeddo man

accident-2

A single-vehicle accident in Speaker Township Sunday evening injured only the 23-year-old driver, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, reporting a single-vehicle crash on Fisher Road, east of Jordan Road, in Speaker Township. Initial investigation found that the car, a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, had been eastbound on Fisher road when the driver, a 23-year-old man from Jeddo, somehow lost control of the vehicle and entered the road’s north ditch.
However, prior to the accident being reported, the driver had left the scene, with police learning that he had been taken privately to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for his injuries and released following treatment.
Deputies from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on scene by the Peck Police Department and Thumb Towing. The name of the driver is being withheld at this time as this is an on-going investigation.
