The Marlette Farmers Market starts its 7th season today, Thursday, May 23 from 4-7pm in downtown Marlette.
All of the fruits, veggies, meat, eggs, and honey are from Thumb area farms, most within 20 miles of Marlette. Their bakers are also local, with a wide variety of freshly baked goodies including sourdough and hallah breads, cupcakes, cookies, bagels, muffins, and more sweet treats.
The Marlette Farmers Market is the only market in Sanilac County that takes SNAP and gives Bridge Card holders Double Up Food Bucks up to $20 a week. Double Up Food Bucks tokens can be used exclusively for fresh Michigan produce. They also accept Senior Project Fresh for low income senior citizens.
Each week at the Marlette Farmers Market, there is a food truck and seating for your family to enjoy dinner, live music, and shop from over 25 vendors each week carrying locally grown or made produce, beef, eggs, baked goods, and crafts.
It has become a Community Gathering Place in the heart of downtown Marlette every Thursday from 4-7pm now through September 12.
