Rochester man minorly injured after deer collision in Sanilac County

A Rochester man suffered only minor injuries after colliding with a deer in Sanilac County on Friday night.
Deputies were dispatched shortly after 9:40 p.m. last Friday, May 24, after receiving reports of an unknown crash on West Sanilac Road, near Boyne Road, in Lamotte Township. Marlette EMS and the Lamotte Township Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Investigation by deputies found that a 2021 Toyota Highlander was being driven west on West Sanilac Road by a 46-year-old Rochester man when it struck a deer near Boyne Road.
The collision caused the airbags to deploy, with the driver and sole occupant of the car suffering minor injuries from the airbags. He was transported to McKenzie Memorial Hospital by Marlette EMS for treatment.
