Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office reports Memorial Day Weekend activity

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office had a busy Memorial Day weekend, handling 126 complaints over the three-day period.
Sheriff Paul Rich reports that department deputies also made 174 traffic stops, with the stops resulting in 135 verbal warnings, 42 traffic citations and 13 arrests. The department also responded to 13 crashes during the weekend, with no serious injuries reported.
While the Marine Division was on patrol around Lake Huron, particularly in Port Sanilac and Lexington Harbors, no citations were issued, nor were there any injuries reported.
The holiday weekend also saw four subjects being booked at the county jail, as well as the department’s Volunteer Aero Squadron conducting safety patrols in the skies above Lake Huron’s shores.
