Two Lexington women injured during Friday accident in Worth Township

A three vehicle crash in Worth Township on Friday afternoon injured two Lexington women, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.

Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 3:30 p.m. on May 31 reporting a three-vehicle crash on Lakeshore and Dian Roads in Worth Township. Several agencies were dispatched in response, with county deputies joined at the scene by the Croswell and Lexington police departments, MSP Caro, Croswell EMS and Lexington Fire Department.

Investigation thus far found that a 69-year-old man from Lexington had been northbound on Lakeshore Road in his 2008 Chevrolet Silverado when he crossed the center line and struck two vehicles. First to be struck was a southbound 2019 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 72-year-old Lexington woman, while the second southbound vehicle was a 2023 International Harvester Co. semi driven by a 63-year-old Port Huron man.

The Malibu’s driver and her 76-year-old passenger, also from Lexington, were both injured and treated on scene before transport to Port Huron’s McLaren Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
