Following an investigation yesterday, Lapeer Community School District administrators say that threats made regarding the middle school were not credible.
In a letter to parents posted to social media shortly before 9: 20 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, District Superintendent Matt Wandrie shared that administration had been “made aware of threatening messages regarding Rolland-Warner [Middle School] posted to a social media account,” via an anonymous report sent to district officials.
Upon being made aware of the messages, the superintendent says the district, in cooperation with local law enforcement, immediately began an investigation.
Though initial investigation found that several students had their social media accounts breached by an unknown party, the district insisted in their first letter, as well as the follow-up letter posted later that day around 4:30 p.m., that the threats were not immediate or credible.
