Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in a Friday evening accident in Sanilac Township, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, reporting a two vehicle injury accident at the intersection of North Lakeshore and Custer Roads. Deputies were dispatched to the scene, with Port Sanilac Fire/Rescue and Sanilac EMS also responding.
Initial investigation found that a 43-year-old Carsonville woman had been driving east on Custer Road in her 2017 Ford Explorer when she failed to yield to cross traffic on North Lakeshore Road and was struck in the passenger side by a 49-year-old Carsonville man headed north in his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.
The man was transported to Deckerville Hospital for treatment while the woman was taken to Port Huron McLaren for her injuries.
