The Sanilac County Museum hopes to keep the celebrations going this 4th of July weekend, hosting two days of free events for county families and history lovers alike.
A family fun day will be held on Friday, July 5, with a variety of activities, like pony rides, a petting farm showcase, crafts and games, being offered for the kiddos while the adults can enjoy the weekly farmers market or a tour of the historical grounds and buildings.
Then on Saturday, the Sanilac County Historical Society is proud to host the grand opening of their WWII Troop Train’s Kitchen Car. The July 6th event will begin with acknowledgements at 4:00 p.m. followed by an open house of the new military history exhibit and ending with a patriotic performance by the Deckerville Area Community Choir in the museum’s church.
While the events are free, donations to the museum and historical society would be gratefully accepted.
