Two injured during July 4th traffic crash in Sanilac County’s Maple Valley Twp

A 4th of July traffic accident in Maple Valley Township injured two people, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a report shortly before 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, concerning a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Burnsline and Shepherd Roads. Sheriff’s deputies, along with the Brown City Fire Department and Marlette EMS, were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation found that a 50-year-old Sterling Heights man had been northbound on Shepherd Road in his 2017 Infiniti when he disregarded a stop sign and struck a 2004 Ford Ranger traveling east on Burnsline Road.
The Ranger’s driver, an 18-year-old Brown City man, was injured in the crash, as was a small child passenger in the Infiniti. Both were treated on scene by first responders before transport to Marlette Regional Hospital.
This accident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
