One of the seven crashes happening in Sanilac County over the holiday weekend was on Sunday, and saw only minor injuries being suffered by an out of area passenger.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call shortly before 4:40 p.m. on July 7, reporting a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Sunset Boulevard in Worth Township.
Initial investigation determined that a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu was being driven south on Lakeshore Road by a 21-year-old Macomb man when he started to fall asleep, running off the roadway and into a ditch. The driver did re-enter the roadway, but only after hitting a sign in the ditch.
While the driver was uninjured, his passenger, a 20-year-old Rochester Hills woman, was treated on scene by Croswell EMS for minor injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected in the incident.
