Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office stays busy 4th of July weekend

Sanilac County Sheriff Paul Rich reports that his office kept busy over the 4th of July weekend, handling almost 150 complaints during that time.
Deputies also made 80 traffic stops which accounted for 6 arrest charges, 69 verbal warnings and 17 citations across the traffic stops they conducted. Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to seven crashes with no serious injuries being reported.
Meanwhile, Sanilac County Corrections Deputies booked 8 subjects into the Jail stemming from arrests by deputies and other police agencies throughout the county.
And though no water related injuries or major incidents were reported, the Sanilac County Marine Division was also on Lake Huron in both Port Sanilac and Lexington Harbors during the holiday, conducting marine patrols and safety inspections. The Sheriff’s Office Volunteer AERO Squadron also conducted safety patrols from the air along the shores of Lake Huron.
