A St. Clair County woman pleaded guilty Monday to one count of embezzlement of $50,000 or more but less than $100,000, according to State Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Lisa Marie Tramski, of Burtchville, pleaded guilty on July 22 in the 31st Circuit Court in St. Clair County, having embezzled more than $86,000 from an elderly woman.

It is alleged that in early 2018, Tramski was appointed guardian for the purported victim, who died only weeks later, and that about a week before the death, Tramski had the victim sign a will leaving everything to her. It is also alleged that, despite knowing there were legal challenges to the will, Tramski proceeded to take the money from the victim’s accounts.

Ultimately, the probate court invalidated the will benefitting Tramski, and she was charged with three felonies: one count of embezzlement of $50,000 to $100,000; one count of failure to file a tax return; and one count of making/permitting the filing of false tax returns. The latter two charges were later dropped.

Tramski will pay $51,600.75 in restitution prior to sentencing as part of the plea. She will be sentenced on Sept. 16th at 9:30 a.m. in front of Judge Daniel A. Damman in 31st Circuit Court in St. Clair County.
