Aspire Rural Health System is excited to share the opening of their Deckerville Pulmonology Clinic.
Beginning tomorrow, July 26, Family Nurse Practitioner Kristie Smith, FNP-C, and pulmonologist Dr. Shahzad Manawar, will begin seeing patients in the Deckerville Pulmonology Clinic. The clinic is located within the hospital at 3559 Pine Street.
A patient may see a pulmonologist when diagnosed with lung diseases such as COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer, and cystic fibrosis. A pulmonologist’s goal is to help patients control or reduce symptoms, improve functional status, and educate patients and families about lung diseases, and self-management strategies. A patient will often be referred to a pulmonologist when additional support for disease is needed.
Dr. Shahzad Manawar has been part of the Aspire Hills & Dales team for several years and is excited to help expand this service line for more patients in the community.
