Over 260 lbs of cocaine was seized at the Blue Water Bridge last Thursday, August 1.
The St. Clair County Drug Task Force reports that around 4:30 p.m. that day, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) discovered and seized the cocaine.
The investigation has been assigned to the St. Clair County Drug Task Force and their law enforcement partners at HSI. The suspect, semi-tractor and trailer, and the 266 lbs of evidence were turned over to the St. Clair County Drug Task Force.
The suspect, 42-year-old Juli Sabosan Sathiaseelan of Canada, was lodged at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center, and later arraigned by the 72nd District Court. His bond has been set at $3,000,000.
Additional charges may be requested as a result of the continuing investigation.
