Paul A. Fetting, 75, a cherished resident of Sandusky, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 4, 2024, while in the Upper Peninsula.
Paul was born on September 10, 1948, in Sandusky, MI, to the late Auburn and Hilda (Shaffbower) Fetting. On June 17, 1967, he was united in marriage to Mary Quandt. The couple made their home in Sandusky, where they lovingly raised their three daughters.
Paul dedicated many years of his life working as a union mason until health issues forced him to retire. Demonstrating remarkable resilience and creativity, he taught himself the art of silversmithing. Paul created unique jewelry using Michigan minerals and gems, which he sold online and in the Upper Peninsula, where he formed special friendships with Sherry, Cheryl, Felix, Kelly, and Joe. Paul found joy in hunting, fishing, and rock collecting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Sharon Bittner and Carol Rockefeller. Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Fetting; his daughters, Wendy McBride, Melissa (Steve) Blashill, and Amanda (Mike) Fetting; and his beloved grandchildren, Brandon Weiler, Emily Blashill, Caden Blashill, Cara Blashill, and Miah Fetting. He also leaves behind his sisters, Margaret (Ken) Fletcher and Alice Smith, as well as a special nephew, Robert, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
