Two investigations led to five arrests last week for the St. Clair County Drug Task Force, as well as the seizure of over 20 grams of methamphetamine and analogue pills.
The task force concluded an investigation last Tuesday, August 6, into the sale of methamphetamine in Port Huron, executing a search warrant at a home on the 1000 block of 7th Street. While executing the warrant, two Port Huron residents, 36-year-old Matthew Fields and 21-year-old Kaylee Rataj, were found in the home and taken into custody, eventually being taken to the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.
The search found a dealer’s quantity of crystal methamphetamine, analogue pills, packaging material and narcotics paraphernalia. Fields was charged with delivery of methamphetamine, dangerous drugs, keeping a house of ill fame and a parole violation, and is being held on a $50,000 bond. Rataj was charged with possession of methamphetamine and a contempt of court warrant, with bond set at $10,000.
Two days later, the task force performed a traffic stop on eastbound i-94 at Port Huron’s Water Street, in connection to the sale of crystal meth. DTF had received information that the vehicle was transporting narcotics from Detroit, prompting the early morning stop on Thursday, August 8. A search of the car revealed almost 14 grams of crystal meth, with the three subjects in the vehicle arrested and lodged at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.
Victoria Urie, 41-years-old of Port Huron, was charged with Delivery of Crystal Methamphetamine and Destruction of Evidence, and is being held on a $25,000 bond. 37-year-old Jessica Debruyn, also of Port Huron, was charged with delivery of Crystal Methamphetamine and is being held on a $5,000 bond. Jason Swinson, 70 years old of Clyde Twp, was charged with possession of Crystal Methamphetamine and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
