St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office looking for perpetrator in Fort Gratiot stabbing

A family dispute led to a stabbing in Fort Gratiot Township yesterday evening, and law enforcement is still looking for the culprit.
St. Clair County Central Dispatch received a report of a stabbing in the 4000 block of Parker Road just after 7:30 pm on August 29, 2024. Multiple police agencies, Fort Gratiot Fire Department, and Tri-Hospital EMS all responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 56-year-old man with multiple stab wounds and a 55-year-old woman with cuts to her hands. The suspect in the incident is a family member who fled the scene and was not found after an extensive search.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for 33-year-old Brent Durrant, who stands at six feet tall and is estimated to weigh around 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and brown pants.
Durrant is known to have mental disabilities, and police believe he is still possibly armed with a knife. If spotted, please call 911 and do not engage with him.
As of writing/posting (11:30 a.m., 8/30), St. Clair County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau is still attempting to locate Durrant at this time.
