Carsonville-Port Sanilac (CPS) Board of Education met this past Monday with staffing and building updates for the Middle and High Schools, in light of increased enrollment numbers.
Superintendent Douglas Muxlow shared that interviews for the Transitional Business Manager position are set to begin this week. Seven candidates are lined up for the position with interviews being headed by himself, Business Manager Susan Cole, one principal from the districts, and one Board of Education member. Cole announced her retirement at last month’s meeting, effective June 30, 2025, with approval from the board. It was also reported that the district’s enrollment for 2024 is expected to fall even or slightly above last year’s numbers.
Monday night’s meeting addressed plans for additional security measures throughout the schools–primarily the elementary school–along with potential key fob entrances for the remaining doors at the elementary and high school buildings.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 14, at 6 p.m. at the CPS High School.
