14-year-old Bay County boy killed, another injured, in Saturday afternoon traffic crash in Tuscola County

A 14-year-old is dead following an odd crash in Tuscola County.

Michigan State Police from the Caro Post responded to a traffic crash around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday afternoon near Broadway and North Murray Roads in Tuscola County’s Ellington Township.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 2001 Cadillac, driven by a 14-year-old Bay City boy, had crashed into a tree. The driver sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, but his lone passenger, a 14 year-old boy from Kawkawlin, was trapped in the back of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

This incident remains under investigation. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Third District Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team, Caro Fire Department and MMR.
