A UTV crash in Moore Township yesterday evening injured its operator, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
Central Dispatch received a report shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, about a single-vehicle UTV crash on Freiberger Road, north of Sanilac Road, in Moore Township. Deputies responded to the scene, along with the Moore Township Fire Department, Sandusky Police Department, and Sanilac EMS.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a 2022 Polaris Ranger, operated by a 79-year-old man from Sandusky, was traveling south on Freiberger Road along the west shoulder when it veered into the west ditch and overturned, injuring the driver. The driver received treatment at the scene and was later transported to McKenzie Hospital by Sanilac EMS for further medical care.
Seatbelts were in use, and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.
