Michigan State Troopers from the Caro post investigated a small plane crash at the Caro Airport Monday evening.

The pilot, a 44-year-old Tuscola County man, reported he was attempting to land when the aircraft lost power and crashed near the approach area of the runway. The man was not injured, but the aircraft, a 1978 Aeropro, did suffer a fuel spill. The small spill was contained by the Caro Fire Department. Also assisting state police at the scene were the Caro Police Department, Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office, and MMR.

The investigation has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
