October 15th ribbon cutting ceremony planned for Discovery City Children’s Museum’s Grand Opening

The City of Port Huron and the Port Huron Parks & Recreation Department are excited to announce the grand opening of the Discovery City Children’s Museum on October 15, 2024.

A ribbon cutting will be held that same day at 3:00pm at the museum’s location at 317 Grand River Avenue, with the public invited to attend. Discovery City Children’s Museum is the region’s premier children’s museum and is located in the heart of downtown Port Huron at the site of the Knowlton Museum.

Discovery City Children’s Museum boasts a wide range of hands-on, interactive exhibits for children such as a camping exhibit, water features, animated sandbox, indoor playscape, and a children-run city with marketplace, pizzeria, vet office, and more. Discovery City Children’s Museum expands upon the popular Discovery City exhibit, which was housed at the Port Huron Museum’s Carnegie Center from 2021-2023.

Discovery City Children’s Museum is made possible through the generous support of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, the Knowlton Ice Museum of North America and the Knowlton Family, and multiple private and corporate donors and sponsors.
