St. Clair County man with dementia found safe after going missing Tuesday night

St. Clair County authorities are relieved to share that a missing man has been found safe following a Tuesday night report.

Scott Davis Moore, age 62 and new to the area from Chicago, was reported missing yesterday evening. He had left his home on Sunset Lane in Fort Gratiot around 3:30 p.m. in his white 2006 Toyota Highlander.

Having just recently moved to the area from Chicago, and with no family nearby, authorities worried for Moore, who has dementia. While they were unsure where he intended to head to, he was seen almost two hours after he left Fort Gratiot, driving northbound on Lakeshore Road near 24th Avenue.

While he was eventually found safe, with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office sharing the news Wednesday morning, it is still unclear where Moore was headed to.
