Tuesday’s seizure of 370.7 lbs of cocaine declared as largest bust by St. Clair County Drug Task Force

Approximately $16.5 million of cocaine was seized during a Tuesday traffic stop of a semi-truck near the Bluewater Bridge.

The St. Clair County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop just after 9 p.m. on October 15, pulling over a semi-tractor trailer on Pinegrove Avenue in Port Huron. During the stop, about 370.7 lbs of cocaine was found inside the semi, with the task force taking the driver into custody.

The driver is being held at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center. Authorities report that this seizure is the largest drug bust in the task force’s history.

Just two months ago, in August, the task force assisted with a similar seizure, wherein a 42-year-old Canadian attempted to smuggle 266 lbs of cocaine into the country, also via semi-tractor trailer. His bond was set at $3 million, with it unclear what this case’s suspect will receive for bond.
