With two weeks left before the election, Tuscola County is preparing to ask voters for approval on several millages across local townships for matters such as road work, library funding and operating costs for township operations.

Dayton Township will be asking residents to approve a one mill ($1 per $1000 in taxable value) increase of a 15 mill tax limitation to fund road repair and maintenance through 2028, while Koylton Township will be looking to approve a two mill increase to fund road maintenance for two years. Juniata Township is seeking a renewal of a previously authorized millage to fund their road maintenance projects until 2030, with the millage rate not to exceed 2.9829 mills.

The Reese Unity District Library is also proposing a 10-year-renewal of its annual levy, with the millage not to exceed 0.9965 mills, to fund operations through 2034. Meanwhile, Elmwood Township is seeking to renew an annual levy, not to exceed 1.2424 mills, for five years to hire and equip personnel for local fire operations, as well as funding said operations.

Finally, Denmark Township is hoping residents will approve a 0.5 mill increase on the local tax limitation, so as to fund township operations for the next ten years.
