With under two weeks left in October, the Croswell City Council held its last meeting of the month this past Monday, discussing road construction and possible closures.

Paving on Ward and Brown Streets is set to begin next week with final grating still ongoing. Davis Street will be following close behind, although some minor adjustments to sidewalks may need to be pushed into 2025. Council members also announced the hire of one full-time police officer from Port Huron. She is expected to start working in Croswell as soon as Monday, November 4.

Meanwhile, just before Halloween, Wells Street and Ward Street will be closed for one day this upcoming weekend. The closure is scheduled for Sunday, October 27, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is for filming purposes, however, a back alleyway will remain open.

The next city council meeting is planned for Monday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m.
