Alcohol and speeding do not appear to be factors in an early morning crash this past Wednesday in Sanilac County’s Flynn Township.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 2 a.m. on Wednesday October 23, reporting a single vehicle rollover crash near the intersection of Shepherd and Harrington Roads in Flynn Township. Deputies, Marlette EMS and the Brown City Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation found that a 2015 Audi A4 was being driven north on Shepherd Road by a 52-year-old Cheboygan man when he attempted to avoid a deer and drove off the road, into the west ditch. The vehicle continued north in the ditch, going airborne after crashing into a field drive, before rolling twice and landing back on its tires.
The driver of the vehicle was treated on scene by Marlette EMS and was transported to Marlette Regional Hospital for further treatment of injuries.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
