A Thursday morning accident between two cars in Marlette Township resulted in three people injured.
Shortly before noon on Thursday, December 5, Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call reporting a two vehicle accident at Sanilac and Germania Road in Marlette Township. Deputies, along with Lamotte Township Fire Department, Marlette EMS and Sanilac EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation determined that a 2015 Dodge Caravan, traveling west on Sanilac Road, attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. The driver of the Dodge Caravan, a 93-year-old man from Snover, did not see an oncoming 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, and turned into its lane of travel.
The vehicles collided head on and both vehicles ended up in the south ditch with significant damage. The eastbound Chevrolet Traverse was driven by a 52-year-old man and had one passenger, a 44 year old woman, both from Caro.
Both the driver and passenger from the Chevrolet Traverse were treated on scene by Marlette EMS before being transported to Cass City Hills & Dales for further treatment of injuries. The driver of the Dodge Caravan was treated on scene by Sanilac EMS before being transported to McKenzie Hospital for additional treatment.
