The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the promotion of Deputy Megan Loding to the rank of Sergeant, effective December 29, 2024.

Deputy Loding began her journey with the Sheriff’s Office in May 2014 as a Records Clerk, quickly demonstrating her strong work ethic and attention to detail. Her passion for law enforcement led her to become a Corrections Deputy, with the sheriff’s office sponsoring her when she enrolled at the Delta College Police Academy, where she graduated in December 2019.

After her Police Academy Graduation, Deputy Loding joined the Uniform Services Division as a Deputy Sheriff. Beyond her role as a patrol deputy, she has made significant contributions as a TEAM (Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring) Instructor in local schools, fostering trust and education between youth and law enforcement. She also served as a Drug Task Force Investigator, working tirelessly to combat illegal narcotics activity in Sanilac County.

“Megan’s career trajectory is an incredible example of what dedication and perseverance can achieve,” said Sheriff Paul Rich. “She has served this office and our community with distinction and has consistently gone above and beyond in every role she has held. Her leadership skills, experience, and passion for public service make her the ideal choice to step into the role of Sergeant. We are confident she will continue to set a shining example for her peers and serve the people of Sanilac County with the utmost integrity.”
