Port Huron man arrested, charged with breaking and entering, methamphetamine possession

An active investigation into multiple breaking and entering cases had a breakthrough recently with the arrest of a 54-year-old Port Huron man last Tuesday, December 17.
The Port Huron Major Crimes Unit (MCU) has been actively investigating a series of thefts throughout St. Clair County, including multiple incidents of breaking and entering into storage units, theft of copper wiring, and stolen property taken from residential doorsteps.
On December 17th, 2024, the MCU executed a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of Garfield Street in Port Huron. During the search, investigators recovered a substantial amount of stolen property worth over $50,000. Additionally, investigators discovered approximately six ounces of crystal methamphetamine within the residence.
As a result of the investigation, 54-year-old William Kenneth Evenson has been arrested in connection with these crimes. The investigation remains ongoing, and MCU is working to identify and return the recovered property to its rightful owners.
William Kenneth Evenson was arraigned on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, on the following charges: Breaking and Entering a Building with Intent, Stolen Property – Receiving and Concealing ($1,000-$20,000), and Controlled Substance – Possession of Methamphetamine.
A bond of 100,000/10% cash or surety was set, and a probable cause conference is scheduled for December 30th, 2024, in front of the Honorable Judge Mona S. Armstrong.
