Carlos Santana postpones 2025 residency launch after fall at home

Guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana performs at the 50th Anniversary of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on Friday^ April 26^ 2019.

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana has postponed the next run of his Las Vegas residency shows because of an “accidental fall” at his home in Hawaii.

Santana’s management confirmed in a statement: “I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai. He took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand. He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully. Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal. Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”

Santana had dates scheduled for An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live in January, February, and May 2025. It remains unclear if Santana’s 2025 Oneness Tour will be affected, which is slated to kick off in Highland, CA on April 16th with stops in Phoenix, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; San Antonio, TX; Sugar Land, TX; Thackerville, OK; Tulsa, OK; and Nashville, TN before heading to Europe and the UK in June.
