Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in a crash that minorly injured a 23-year-old Lexington man Friday night.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 9pm on Friday, January 17, reporting a single vehicle rollover crash on South Lakeshore Road, north of Galbraith Line Road in Worth Township. Deputies, along with the Lexington Fire Department and Croswell EMS, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a 2002 Chevrolet Tracker, driven by a 23-year-old Lexington man, was northbound on S. Lakeshore Rd. when it attempted to pass a vehicle in front of it. As the vehicle re-entered the northbound lane, it hit a patch of snow/ice mixture and lost control. The vehicle then left the roadway and into the east side ditch of S. Lakeshore Road before overturning multiple times and coming to rest on its wheels in an adjacent farm field.
The driver of the vehicle was treated on scene by Croswell EMS for treatment of minor injuries and later transported to Lake Huron Medical Center for additional treatment.
