Michigan State Police investigating fatal Monday morning tractor-vehicle crash in Sebewaing Township

Caro Post troopers are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Monday morning in Sebewaing Township.

The crash is believed to have occurred around 10:17 a.m. on January 27, on Unionville Road near Loomis Road.

Investigators report that a 34-year-old Crystal man was driving southbound on Unionville in a tractor trailer when he lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic. The tractor trailer struck a northbound 2024 Chevrolet Blazer driven by a 57-year-old Sebewaing man.

The Sebewaing man sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The Crystal man was treated for minor injuries on scene.

Icy road conditions and high winds were cited as factors in this traffic crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected. This incident remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted on scene by Sebewaing Police Department, Sebewaing Fire, Unionville Fire, D&J Towing, Bartnik Towing, and Michigan State Police Third District Accident Reconstruction Team.
