Port Huron Police have identified the 35-year-old man killed early Tuesday morning.
35-year- old Vincent Buckles died from multiple gunshot wounds on January 28, with police dispatched to the scene in the 2500 block of Vanness Street around 12:30 a.m.
The Port Huron Major Crimes Unit and Detective Bureau are investigating his death in tandem with a suspicious car fire that occurred at the 3000 block of Vanness Street shortly before Buckles was reported shot. Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle fire may have been the result of arson.
Investigators are working to determine if the vehicle fire and the homicide are connected. The Michigan State Police Crime Lab is assisting with the investigation and processing evidence from both crime scenes. This is an ongoing investigation.
The Port Huron Police Department encourages anyone with information about this case to contact the Port Huron Police Department at (810) 984-8415 or the Port Huron Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit at (810) 984-5383.
