Two in custody in connection to Jan. 28 murder in Port Huron

The Port Huron Police Department has two suspects in custody in connection with the January 28, 2025, homicide of 35-year-old Vincent Buckles.

Following an extensive investigation , the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on February 12, 2025 arrested a 22-year-old male based on intelligence provided by the Port Huron Major Crimes Unit. The suspect was taken into custody just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently being held awaiting extradition to Michigan. The suspect also has an outstanding felony warrant for a double homicide out of Detroit that occurred in December 2023.

Additionally, the Port Huron Major Crimes Unit has arrested a 36-year-old female suspect who was previously released during the initial stages of the investigation. Newly obtained evidence has further linked her to the crime. She is now in custody and will be lodged at the St. Clair County Jail.

The Port Huron Police Department extends their gratitude to the multiple agencies that assisted in this investigation, including the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, Downriver SWAT, the Michigan State Police 2nd District Fugitive Apprehension Team, and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
