
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in a Thursday morning snowmobile accident.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a report of a snowmobile crash shortly after 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025. The snowmobile crash occurred near Shabbona Rd. and Merriman Roads in Wheatland Township. Deputies along with the Deckerville Fire Department and Sanilac EMS were dispatched to the scene.
The initial investigation determined that a 2003 SKI DOO snowmobile, driven by a 19-year-old Carsonville man, struck a drainage ditch on private property, causing him to lose control and be ejected off the snowmobile.
The Carsonville man was injured in the crash. Sanilac EMS and Deckerville Fire treated the man on scene and he was later transported to Aspire Rural Health – Marlette Hospital.
