A Friday search warrant executed in St. Clair County’s China Township saw 52 animals seized due to neglect and mistreatment.

St. Clair County Animal Control seized 52 animals including sheep, mini-pigs and fowl. Kevin Tuttle, 59, was arraigned on felony cruelty and neglect charges for 4-10 animals earlier that day. These charges stem from a situation involving goats and sheep in deplorable conditions taken into care by Animal Control on January 22nd, 2025.

The 52 animals’ health and living conditions yesterday were consistent with the animals Animal Control previously removed from this location. One animal was in critical condition and immediately transported to Michigan State University Veterinary Medical Center. All animals are being assessed for diagnostics, treatment, and species appropriate feeding plans.

St. Clair County Animal Control urges anyone aware of animal collecting, cruelty, or neglect to report the conditions to 810.984.3155 or animalcontrol@stclaircounty.org.
