Eastbound I-69 from Wadhams Road to I-94 will be completely closed for construction this weekend as work is done to improve the Allen Road bridge in St. Clair County.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 7pm on Friday, March 21, and finish up by 6 a.m. on Monday, March 24. The detour during this closure is Wadhams Road to Griswold Road to Range Road to I-94.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $2.1 million to improve the Allen Road bridge over I-69, with work including deck replacement, beam repair, substructure patching, partial painting, silane treatment, concrete surface coating, and approach work.
The work began Monday, March 17, and is estimated to end in July of 2025. A second weekend closure is anticipated near the completion of the project and will be announced in advance.
