Plans for a new county animal control building are moving forward with the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners placing the approval for the project on the next meeting’s agenda.
The project, a plan which has been percolating for about three years, would cost about $850,000 to construct the 4,600 sq ft building and its driveway. Planned contractor Jeremy Bender of Bender Builders estimates that he can complete the project by the end of the year.
To ensure they meet the deadline though, Commissioner Jon Block urged fellow commissioners to add the approval to the agenda, thus moving up the project by at least two weeks.
Bender will be presenting plans and further details of the building to the commissioners at the next meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m.
