24-year-old St. Clair Township man arraigned for first degree murder in shooting death of father

A 24-year-old man was arraigned Friday for shooting and killing his father last Monday in St. Clair Township.

24-year-old Wyatt Stimac was arraigned March 21 on a felony firearm charge and a first degree murder charge. He was denied bond.

Just before 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, St. Clair County Central Dispatch received a call about a man who had been shot in the 5300 block of Gratiot Road in St. Clair Township. Upon arrival, deputies were met by the 24-year-old male suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies then located the 56-year-old male victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds. Life saving measures were taken and CPR was attempted until EMS arrived on location, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The St. Clair County Sheriff Detectives, Port Huron Major Crimes Unit, and MSP Crime Lab are investigating.
