
Despite being arraigned nearly a month apart, two local men will face pretrial next week in unrelated cases involving child sexually abusive material.
Both Justin King of Sandusky and Anthony Caulkins of Peck will have pretrial proceedings next week, following investigations by the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Crimes Against Children Task Force earlier this year.
29-year-old Caulkins was arraigned on 16 charges on Friday, January 31st in 73A District Court, while 41-year-old King was arraigned Friday, February 21st on 14 charges. Both investigations saw evidence seized from the men’s homes.
Caulkins has been charged with four counts of sexually abusive activity–aggravated distribution, four counts child sexually abusive material–aggravated possession, and eight counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
King has been charged with two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, two counts of distributing child sexually abusive material, three counts of child sexually abusive activity and seven counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
Both are scheduled to appear before Circuit Court Judge Timothy Wrathell at 9 a.m. next Wednesday, April 16.
