Suspect in Port Huron man’s death extradited, arraigned

A suspect in the January homicide of Port Huron man Vincent Buckles has been extradited back to Michigan for court proceedings against him.

22-year-old Dazman Robert Drake of Detroit was arraigned in St. Clair County’s 72nd District Court on Monday, April 14, on multiple charges, including Open Murder, Felony Firearm, Fourth Degree Arson, Arson – Preparation to Burn Property Valued Between $1,000 and $20,000, Tampering with Evidence, and Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle. He was denied bond.

Drake was extradited back to Michigan from Georgia last week.

At the time of his arrest in February, he also had outstanding felony warrants in Georgia, as well as an outstanding felony warrant for a double homicide out of Detroit that occurred in December 2023.

Drake is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause conference on April 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM, with a preliminary examination set for April 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM before Judge Mona Armstrong.
