A Harper Woods man is dead and a Flint man is injured following a collision on westbound I-94 in St. Clair County.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of westbound I-94 and County Line Road around 2:30 am Friday morning for reports of a blue Dodge Charger traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-94 at a high rate of speed. While enroute, it was reported that there had been a collision.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a two-car collision on westbound I-94 near Church Road, involving a blue Dodge Charger and a Ford Explorer. A 28-year-old man from Harper Woods was the lone occupant of the Dodge Charger and pronounced deceased on scene.
The other vehicle was occupied by a 32-year-old man, who was transported to McLaren Macomb with critical injuries.
Westbound I-94 was closed for several hours during the incident. This incident is currently being investigated by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team.
